Spouses and children\noften accompany our members to the various rides and functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members can ride a\nbike of their choosing, and are not mandated to riding an American made\nmotorcycle (ie. Harley Davidson).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not have a\nprobationary period for members, or prospects, and women are equal in our\norganization not only as members, but in leadership positions locally and\ninternationally within the Blue Knights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*<\/strong>&nbsp;Our Founding Fathers are: Joel Rudom,\nBill Robinson, Doug Miner, Ed Gallant, Mike Hall, Chuck Gesner, Wayne Labree,\nChuck Shuman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our\nPledge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;As a Blue Knight, I pledge to act with honor and pride to\npromote motorcycling and motorcycle safety by being an example of the safe use,\noperation and enjoyment of motorcycles. I will work at all times to improve the\nrelationship between the motorcycling law enforcement community and the general\npublic. The fraternal spirit will always guide me in relating to other Blue\nKnights.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bylaws<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the\nBy-Laws, our purposes and goals are to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide for the mutual<br>assistance, enjoyment, entertainment, education, physical,&nbsp;mental<br>and&nbsp;social benefit of its members and the general public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To promote and advance<br>the sport of motorcycling and the safety of motorcycling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To serve the interests<br>of motorcycle owners and users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To promote by example<br>and any other acceptable means, safe use, operation and enjoyment of<br>motorcycles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop a fraternal<br>spirit between law enforcement personnel and the general public.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits\nof Knighthood<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is difficult\nstating what makes the&nbsp;<strong>Blue Knights<\/strong><strong>\u00ae<\/strong>&nbsp;so special. Perhaps the following will help explain the\nkinds of feelings that flow when a bunch of motorcycle-riding police officers\nget together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Knighthood is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enjoying the company of different people who share not<br>     only the common bond of a career in law enforcement, but also a love of<br>     motorcycles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being able to visit your friends in any of our member<br>     countries and be treated like family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receiving get-well cards from people you&#8217;ve never met.<br>     (There are no strangers in the Blue Knights, only friends you haven&#8217;t<br>     met.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Riding with the Ladies of the Knights and Little<br>     Knights who give that added family touch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Going to handicapped children&#8217;s camps, giving the kids<br>     rides and seeing the smiles on their faces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Various fund-raising activities for those less<br>     fortunate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Being a Blue Knight is\nall this and much, much more.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Working\nwith Charities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many Blue Knights work\nlong and hard to raise money for various charities.&nbsp;Especially near to our\nhearts is helping children.
